TUF supports its staff with new apartments, help for hometowns

THAI UNION Frozen Products (TUF), the world's leading processor and exporter of canned and frozen seafood products, recently unveiled three employee housing buildings located within the TUF plant in Samut Sakhon.

The construction of the new condominium complex reflects TUF's core values which emphasise the importance of its staff to the organisation. More than 100 employees and company executives took part in the ceremony.

The new Bt120 million facility, entitled "TUF Happy Home", comprised three 6-floor condominium buildings and can house around 200 company employees.

The buildings are fully equipped to the highest safety standards, with free air conditioning units and subsidised utilities. In addition, their residents can enjoy an indoor fitness centre, as well as a football ground in front of the building complex.

The TUF Happy Home project will offer valuable welfare for TUF employees who wish to live near the production facilities. Apart from ensuring high work efficiency and commuting conveniences, the project offers a high level of comfort and safety for the employees who come far from Samut Sakhon.

The company's president and CEO Thiraphong Chansiri emphasised that employees were an utmost priority and an absolute foundation for the company's advancement.

"The support for this apartment complex demonstrates our commitment to strengthen employees' engagement within the TUF family. I would like our employees to consider these apartments as their second home since some have been with us from the very start of our operations, over 27 years ago." he said.

After the opening ceremony, Chansiri was escorted around the new facility by the employees who were ready to move in.

TUF and its subsidiary Thai Union Manufacturing (TUM) also have a CSR project, Sealect See Love #3, that is donating Bt500,000 for scholarships, computer and sports equipment - as well as renovating restrooms and a playground for Ban-Noong-Pla-Cew School in Chachoengsao province which houses 266 children.

The object of this CRS project is to build up team-work among TUF & TUM employees - all of whom can go home and donate or create benefit return to their hometown.

For the Sealect - See Love #1 and #2 projects, the company donated Bt500,000 each to both Bann-Kam-Bong School at Mukdahan province and Ban-Nhong Bua School in Sukhothai.

Donations of Bt1.5 million funded the three projects which aimed to help improve underprivileged schools in the hometowns of the employees.

The selected schools came from the proposals of employees who wanted to return benefits and help develop their hometowns - making employees feel proud of themselves while remaining loyal to the company.
