UBM Asia (Thailand) Co plans the eight edition of "Subcon Thailand" from May 15-17 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Bitec) in Bang Na.

The company’s group director Sanchai Noombunnam said Asean had long been considered one of the world’s most attractive subcontracting destinations and many large multinational corporations in a wide range of industries looked to it for low-cost, high-quality production – especially in Thailand.
Subcon Thailand is Asean’s best market opportunity for manufacturers who are looking to purchase industrial parts, he said.
He added that the event would bring golden business opportunities for Thai and Asean subcontractors. Businesses, especially large Japanese corporations, are continuing to invest in Thailand and many small and medium-sized enterprises are relocating their production facilities to this country or elsewhere in Asean.
With its excellent infrastructure, a highly skilled workforce and quality products, some companies are already using Thailand as their production base and a springboard to the Asean region.
Manufacturers from 12 countries in Asia will show their products including metal, plastic and rubber parts, electrical and electronic components, moulds and dies, tooling, jigs and fixtures, plus numerous other supporting industries. Also included will be parts for industries such as automotive, mechanical, electronics, electrical appliances, air-conditioning and more.
Some of the major buyers are Mercedes-Benz, Samsung Electronics, Isuzu Motors, Whirlpool, Thai Summit Autoparts Industry, Suzuki, Electrolux, Panasonic Motors, Honda Trading, Haier, Mitsubishi Electric and other famous names.
Subcon 2014 will also have more special activities, such as displays from the Japanese industrial prefectures of Kanagawa, Shimane and Osaka, Kyushu Economy International, and SMRJ (SME Support Japan). An Asean support pavilion will showcase industrial-parts capabilities from the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand, while important seminars will help to enhance Thai and other Asean parts-makers in emerging industries.
