As travellers around the world begin the countdown to the eighth annual "Songkran 8 Supersize" from April 11-13, Bangkok hotels are preparing to welcome more than 20,000 visitors for the famed gay event.

The Sathorn Vista, Bangkok – Marriott Executive Apartments combines apartment-style living with five-star hotel services and specialised lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender promotions.
The hotel’s membership with the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association ensures that staff are attuned to the unique needs of LGBT travellers and equipped to offer them a warm welcome.
One of its LGBT promotions is the “Pride and Joy Couples Package”. Visitors who book this package enjoy a complimentary room upgrade to a one-bedroom executive suite.
There is also complimentary bottle of sparkling wine so guests can start their vacation with a toast, while other perks – such as a daily buffet breakfast and in-room, high-speed Internet access – are convenient advantages that let visitors focus on enjoying themselves instead of figuring out logistics.
Marriott notes that logistics, in fact, don’t pose a challenge for any aspect of guests’ vacations. The hotel’s location near Silom and Patpong, hot spots for LGBT entertainment and nightlife, means that Bangkok’s primary gay district is just steps away.
The area is also a good starting point from which to explore the rest of the city.
Situated near the MRT, it is a short ride from the city’s other legendary attractions including Gcircuit, whose parties and multiple venues are all within a 5-kilometre radius of the hotel.
The apartments are furnished with fully equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, and LCD televisions.
