SET assistance goes to Cambodia

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is providing assistance to the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX), a young stock exchange in Asean.

Prior to the agreement with Cambodia, the Thai exchange has formed alliances and established collaboration with exchanges in the Greater Mekong Subregion. With its commitment to drive the Thai capital market to be a key sub-region connector, SET has signed MoU to collaborate with stock exchanges in Laos and Vietnam.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) with CSX was signed yesterday to promote development of capital market in Cambodia and Thailand. Among others, the MOU encompasses human resource training, professional training, information sharing and promoting capital market business opportunities between the two exchanges.
CSX’s share trading started in 2012. 
“The MoU between SET and CSX is a good starting point for our concrete collaboration on capital market development between two countries. We look forward to the continued development of the fruitful relationship with CSX,” said SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira.
The Thai exchange will provide CSX staff with training courses and on-the-job training programs related to stock exchange operations as well as in other areas related to training professionals in the capital market. In addition, for the mutual benefit of both exchanges and the GMS region as a whole, SET and CSX agree to cooperate on information sharing mechanism, corporate governance, capital market education and settlement facilities.
 Under this MoU, SET and CSX also agree to exchange market information to be shown on GMS Exchanges' information center at The website will be an integrated single-window view into the GMS capital market.
