Parnpree Bahiddhanukara has decided to resign from his post as chairman of PTT's board, paving way for the ruling junta to have it reformed in line with its economic policy guideline.

Parnpree said he submitted his resignation letter Sunday morning to ACM Prajin Juntong, deputy chief of the National Council for Peace and Order and also in charge of economic affairs.

Parnpree, who has close relation with many ministers under the previous government led by former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, was also a deputy head of Pheu Thai Party during the ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra's government. He was one of the advisor team to former Energy Minister and Phue Thai Party MP Pongsak Ruktapongpisal.

Parnpree was appointed as chairman of PTT's board on July 5, 2013
