After this year's Bangkok Auto Salon plowed into the brick wall of political uncertainty and had to be cancelled, organiser Inspire Entertainment has come up with a substitute event - the Option FEST, to be held from Thursday to August 3 at Thunderdome Mu
With Option Thailand magazine celebrating its fifth anniversary, organisers say the event will consist of activities that help strengthen the customised car community in the country and feature a grand sale of car accessories.
Inspire Entertainment president Wiluck Lothong said that for the past two-three years, the customised car scenario has grown significantly with a large number of car clubs being formed around the country.
“There have been calls for someone to bring together the car communities in Thailand so that they can get to know each other and share experiences. This is why Option Thailand has decided to organise this event and celebrate the magazine’s fifth anniversary,” he said.
This will be the first time that “the same format as the Option Japan event will be held in Thailand” following the staging of the Option Caravan event last year, Wiluck added.
Discounts of as much as 50 per cent will be offered for accessories featured at the show by Toyota, Nissan, Honda Modula, Suzuk, Isuzu, Yamaha and 50 other exhibitors such as Spoon, Volks, Rays, Project Mu, ECUTEC, Bride, Endless and Enkei. Other sales promotions will also be available for shoppers including prizes worth more than Bt100,000 for the four-day event.
The entertainment includes “sexy car wash” from FHM Girls Next Door models, while a range of Japanese food vendors will set up shop, including Ramen Champions, Tan Tan Izakaya donburi, Musashi katsu rice curry and Peco Peco sushi rolls.
