The board of directors of the State Railway of Thailand has set up a selection panel to seek the new SRT governor in five months, board chairman, Omsin Chiwapruek, said on Friday.

He said the selection panel has representatives from the National Council for Peace and Order, the Transport Ministry, the Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning Office and the Office of the State Enterprise Policy Committee.
The board also appointed Prasert Attanan, chief of the assets management division, as the acting governor of the SRT, replacing the Prapat Chongsa-nguan who was removed from his post by the NCPO after a 13-year-old girl was raped and killed aboard a train heading to Bangkok.
