New Qoros sedan to debut in March

The second production model from new Chinese brand Qoros will be revealed at the 84th Geneva Motor Show in March, the company announced.

A first view of the new model in the Qoros line-up reveals that it will retain the elegant design of the brand's debut model, the Qoros 3 Sedan, while also introducing distinctive features such as a subtly evolved treatment of the front grille and unique rear LED lamp clusters.

The new model is designed to appeal to the young, modern, "always connected" metropolitan customer, with state-of-the-art features including the innovative QorosQloud infotainment system accessed via an 8-inch touchscreen.

Qoros's second model will go on sale in China in 2014, following the market launch last month of the brand's first production model, the Qoros 3 Sedan.

The rapid sequence of model introductions is attributed to an innovative modular platform and flexible product development processes led by experienced European engineers and supported by global engineering and systems partners. The second member of the Qoros family is based on the same modular platform as the Qoros 3 Sedan, which made its world premiere at the 2013 Geneva and Shanghai motor shows.

In September, it became the first car developed in China to be awarded five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. It has earned the highest score so far in the organisation's 2013 assessment programme and achieved one of the highest scores ever in the NCAP's 16-year history.

Qoros says it plans to expand its line-up steadily over the next few years with the aim of offering a comprehensive range of models in all major vehicle segments.

Qoros, which was founded in 2007, has its factory in Changshu, a region of high importance in China's rapidly growing automobile industry, where its all-new, "highly efficient and environmentally sustainable" assembly facility is ramping up series production of the Qoros 3.

In the growing Chinese automobile market, Qoros has an "exceptional position", with brand identity and product positioning that is clearly distinguishable from domestic car manufacturers and international joint ventures.
