Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro)'s new president for Thailand and Southeast Asia vows to further promote bilateral trade and investment relations with Thailand.

Masayasu Hosumi, the new president, called Thailand "a country that has been the centre of the region and has always been open to the rest of the world".
In the meantime, regional cooperation will play more significant roles in the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
He viewed that consequently, Thailand's geographical advantages including Japanese business community's keen interest in business expansion in this region will make the accession to AEC prosper.
Hosumi earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Yokohama National University in Japan. He has been serving the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and other government organisations in Japan for over 30 years.
He succeeds Setsuo Iuchi who will return to Japan.
