Japanese restaurant chain Miyabi Grill has set aside an investment budget of Bt200 million to open 30 new branches this year, bringing the total to 70 nationwide, to boost annual sales to Bt1.2 billion.
Managing director Tachit Promarak said the company targeted revenue growth of more than 100 per cent over last year’s Bt500 million.
Meanwhile, the company is negotiating with strategic partners in Japan to open ramen and sushi restaurants in Thailand. This should be finalised by the third quarter, he said.
He added that Miyabi Grill had tried to cope with the sluggish economy with special promotions funded by a marketing budget of Bt50 million, though that figure is lower than the Bt80 million earmarked early in the year.
"We had to revise down our marketing budget because of we could not launch marketing campaigns in the first quarter while the country was in political turmoil," he said.
However, the company will hold promotions in April to boost its sales, he said.
