HTC set to launch premium

HTC is launching a new smart phone - the HTC One - in the global market and expects to make it available in Thailand in April.

Darren Sng, HTC senior director of product marketing for Asia and the Pacific, said the new HTC One was a premium smart phone with three key features - HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound.

HTC BlinkFeed transforms the home screen into a single live stream of personally relevant information such as social updates, entertainment and lifestyle updates, news and photos with immersive images all in one place.

HTC Zoe transforms the traditional photo gallery of still images into a motion gallery. The feature also automatically creates integrated highlight videos, which can be shared on social networks.

HTC BoomSound is a front-facing stereo speaker on a phone with Beats by Dr Dre Audio integration and full high-definition display that enhances music, videos, games and YouTube clips.

Sng said the new smart phone also revolutionised user interface, entertainment, video and sound. It runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system, is wrapped in a zero-gap aluminium unibody, sports a 4.7-inch full HD screen that offers 468-pixels-per-inch resolution, and has a sensor with ultra-pixels that gather 300 per cent more light than traditional smart-phone camera sensors.

Justin Zhang, HTC's head of product portfolio for South Asia, said the firm expected to make the new smart phone available in April in about 80 countries, including Thailand. However, it has not announced the price of the product, which will come in silver or black.
