Five Thai spas figure in Agoda's top 10 survey
Of the top 10 hotel-spa destinations favoured by travellers seeking relaxation and tranquillity, half are in Thailand, according to a survey by Asia's leading hotel-booking website.
They are Banyan Tree on Koh Samui (No 3), Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort in Chiang Mai (No 4), Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton in Krabi (No 6), Wora Bura Resort & Spa in Hua Hin (No 8) and Banyan Tree Spa Sanctuary in Phuket (No 9).
The top two destinations were in Boracay in the Philippines and in Bali, Indonesia. Fifth and seventh were locations in Cameron Highlands and Lankawi, both in Malaysia, while a facility in Dubai ranked 10th, the survey found. The survey polled more than 130,000 respondents who book via Agoda.com.
The New Year festival is traditionally thought of as a time to reflect on the past, focus on the future, and take on a fresh perspective, Agoda says, and there is no better way to do this than at one of Asia's top spa centres. With an emphasis on realigning body and mind, it is almost impossible to emerge without feeling energised and ready to tackle the year ahead.
The website said that not only do these top 10 hotels themselves offer the best options for a world-class spa experience, but they are located in some of the world's most relaxing places as chosen by Agoda.com customers.
