Exat is working on faulty Easy Pass display
Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt said Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) Governor Aiyanat Tinapai is working hard in solving the faulty Easy Pass display.
"He guarantees with his position that the problem would be solved within the schedule," the minister said.
Motorists are complaining on the errornous display of the amount stored in the card and shown on the sign in front of the toll booths. About 20,000 motorists reported that they could not pass the express lanes as the sign shows no money left in the cards. The ministry was informed that the problem was caused by a delay in data transmission from the toll booths and the central computer system.
Aside from the Easy Pass fiasco, Chadchart also noted that Exat will also have to work out a new plan to speed up traffic towards the express lanes.
Exat is now revamping the computer system, to accommodate the swelling number of motorists using the card.
