Egg Digital's new services to boost growth by 30%

EGG DIGITAL, an online solutions and mobile marketing platform service provider, yesterday launched four new services that it expects will enable it to achieve 30-per-cent growth this year, with overall revenue of Bt560 million.



The company, which is part of the Ascend Group, a spin-off subsidiary of CP Group and True Corp, hopes the launch will support its efforts to reach its business goal of becoming the No-1 mobile marketing platform provider in Thailand.
Much of this year’s growth is expected to come from the shift in focus under its business expansion; that is, from the previous emphasis on large corporates to now concentrating on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through its offering of the four new services.
Egg Digital aims to get one million SMEs to use its services within the next 12 months. 
The new services are: Brand Guard, a social-media monitoring service; Brand Vote, an online survey service; IOTalk, a chat app for corporates; and Fast Promo, an SMS-based CRM (customer relationship management) service. 
Ascend Group, which is concentrating on online business in six countries in Southeast Asia, has five key business areas: e-commerce, through welovershopping.com and iTureMart;, Internet data-centre business, through True IDC; payment business, via True Money; fulfilment service, through its Aden unit; and online solution and digital-marketing business, via Egg Digital.
Ascend’s targeted revenue this year is around Bt6 billion.
Sunsern Samaisut, Ascend Group’s chief commercial officer and Egg Digital’s general manager, said Egg Digital provided services to several large organisations.
Its client base spans a wide variety of fields, from the consumer-products industry, to financial and banking, communications technology, real-estate and education. The firm aims to become a link that connects digital-infrastructure systems from downstream to upstream levels with the ultimate goal of creating sustainable successes for its customers’ online businesses, he said. 
“Today, we are ready to drive the growth of about 2.8 million SMEs in Thailand. We want to help SMEs to benefit from our online solutions and mobile marketing platform at an affordable cost,” he added. 
Egg Digital’s four new services are designed to serve SMEs via a monthly fee service, which means they do not need to invest in their own technology solutions, and can just pay as they use. Sunsern said that the company had invested up to Bt100 million in developing technology and solutions for serving its customers.
Its four existing services, launched last year, together generated Bt491 million in revenue in 2014, surpassing its target of Bt470 million. Around 70 per cent of the revenue was from large corporates, and just 30 per cent from SMEs. “The number of SMEs using our services is very small, while the total number of SMEs in Thailand is around 2.8 million. There is a huge opportunity for us to expand our service target among SMEs.,” he added.
