CPI at 45-month low
Thailand's Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August edged up by only 1.59 per cent from the same period last year, the lowest in 45 months.
According to the Commerce Ministryâ€™s data, from the previous month, inflation rose only 0.01 per cent thanks to a drop in fuel prices and some food items.
Headline inflation in the first eight months of this year went up by 2.47 per cent, compared to the corresponding period last year. Core inflation, excluding volatile prices of food and energy, rose 1.13 per cent on year.
