Asia-Pacific arrivals to rise 5.6%: PATA

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) forecasts that international visitor arrivals in the Asia-Pacific region will grow by 5.6 per cent from last year to exceed 521 million, an increase of some 27 million arrivals.



The forecasts cover 38 destinations in this region.

Last year, international visitor arrivals to the Asia-Pacific region were estimated at around 482 million, an increase of about 6.6 per cent year on year and a gain of 30 million from 2012.

PATA also estimated that arrivals in 2018 would be about 670 million, suggesting an average rate of growth of 6.3 per cent per annum from 2013 onwards.
