Aid for prosthesesmaking
Esso (Thailand), and Dso Chemical Co - a producer of diesel and benzene fuel conditioners - recently donated 840,000 can lids to the Prostheses Foundation for making artificial limbs for the handicapped.
HRH Princess Mother established the Prostheses Foundation in 1992 to provide free prostheses, made from recycled materials, which are lighter and significantly less expensive to produce. According to its website, until June 2011 the foundation has produced 19,485 prostheses. It also provides repair services.
The can lids were presented to the foundation by Yodpong Sutatham, third left, director and retail sales manager of Esso (Thailand) and Siriboon Wangveerathananon, fifth left, chairman of Dso Chemical.
