THE MACAU GOVERNMENT Tourist Office has appointed a new marketing representative in Thailand, Branded the Agency, a public relations and event marketing consultancy.

“We are confident that appointing Branded the Agency will help Macau tourism by facilitating helpful information and news in cooperation with MGTO, as well as encourage Thai travellers to experience the many wonders of Macau,” MGTO director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said. “This year, we expect more Thai travellers to [come to] know the destination and finally visit Macau.

“Macau will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region in 2014, and so we are going to promote Macau in overseas markets through intensive promotional campaigns. We would like Thai travellers to experience the cultural side of Macau as well as the entertainment. This is yet another perspective of Macau tourism.”

Uracha Jaktaranon, managing director of Branded the Agency, said: “We are truly excited and honoured to be working with MGTO as an ambassador for Macau tourism. Thai people often perceive Macau as a city of entertainment, filled with world-class entertainment facilities that attract tourists throughout the year. In fact, Macau is also rich in fascinating cultures, blending the East and West together harmoniously in such a tiny place. It also has a registered World Heritage site.

“ Macau is now a land of two cultures, and it will be interesting to see which way it will develop and grow. In the past, Macau has grown exponentially in terms of real estate, but it has maintained the roots of its old communities. Today, Macau is one of the most fascinating places in Asia.”
