Ad spending continues its plunge

Advertisement spending dropped by 11.69 per cent in May to only Bt8.68 billion, according to Nielsen.



The aggregate ad spending in the first five months of this year showed a 9.20 per cent drop from the same period last year, to only Bt41.03 billion.

In May, all segments witnessed a decline in ad spending compared to May last year, except the "Transit" category (mainly ads on trains and buses).

In Store ads witnessed the steepest decline, 49.26 per cent; followed by magazines (27.81 per cent) and newspapers (16.22 per cent).
