3G subscribers hit 23 million

The number of 3G mobile phone subscribers is expected to reach 25.6 million at the end of this year.

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission revealed that at the end of November, the number of subscribers of 3G service on the 2.1GHz spectrum reached 22.73 million. Over half, 14 million, are using the services of Advance Wireless Network. The rest are the clients of Dtac Network, Real Future and TOT.

They are part of the 94 million mobile phone users. NBTC also expected this number to rise to 95.5 million at the end of this year, which will show a 9 per cent increase from 87.5 million in 2012.
