Somchai ambushed by lone PAD supporter in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai - A woman turned up at the Doi Suthep Temple and made noise with a "hand clapper" to protest against visiting Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat.

Somchai was talking to the abbot at about 9:30 am when the woman turned up and shook the hand clapper.

She was taken away by police immediately.

The prime minister appeared startled to the noise of the hand clapper.

Protesters used the hand clappers to protest Somchai inside Siam Paragon on Sunday.

The prime minister arrived at the Chiang Mai airport in a Thai Airways International flight at 10:40 pm. Some 1,000 government supporters waited to welcome him at the airport.
