One suspected insurgent killed, another injured in Narathiwat



Narathiwat - A suspected insurgent was shot dead and another injured while allegedly resisting arrest, police said.

Police said the two suspects were resisting arrest when about 100 police, soldiers and Interior Ministry officials raided Muh and Moo 1 villages in Tambon Sawor of Rusoh district at 6:30 am.

Police said three suspects ran away from a house and they opened fire at the authorities and the two sides exchanged gunfire for about three minutes.

One suspect was injured and arrested. He was identified as Sukiranai Lohma, 24, who is wanted an arrest warrant for launching bomb attacks in three areas several months ago.

The authorities also found the body of Sakri Lohma, 44, at the scene.
