Dog owners to be required to register pets
Dog owners in Bangkok will have to register their canine pets with authorities in the next several months, or risk losing their four-legged friends and facing a maximum fine of Bt5,000.
It is estimated that capital is now home to over 823,000 dogs.
Deputy Bangkok Governor Wallop Suwandee Monday said the dog registration was intended to promote the owners' responsibility for their pets
"It will keep the owners from abandoning their dogs on street," he said at a press conference.
