Social Security Office (SSO) has up to Bt427billion fund in hand including Bt97.32billion profits accumulated over the past 17 years.

SSO deputy spokesman Win Prompaet Monday said the huge profits came from SSO decisions to invest in the market.

According to him, 83 per cent of SSO fund goes to secure investments such as government bonds while the rest goes to riskier investments.

"The annual profit rate is about five per cent," he said. Win added that SSO reaped Bt17.34billion profit last year.
