Yingluck insists govt supports reform, but new govt must also be elected

Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra insisted Friday that her government supports political reform but the February 2 election must be held to elect the new administration.

In a special interview to the media, Yingluck said the reform would take time for over a year but the country would need a new government to run national affairs.

"Please understand that if we reject the election or defer it for the reform to be done first, it will be too late because the reform will take at least a year," Yingluck said.

"How could the country be run by a government that cannot approve projects or could commit budget under several budget years?"
