Wall Street markets are flat
Washington - US markets were little changed Friday after a week of modest gains.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17.21 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 13,488.43. The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index remained essentially unchanged, losing just 0.07 points to 1,472.05. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index added 3.88 points, or 0.12 per cent, to 3,125.64.For the week, the Dow added 0.4 per cent, the S&P gained 0.38 per cent and the Nasdaq was up 0.77 per cent.
The US currency fell to 74.95 euro cents from 75.37 euro cents on Thursday. The dollar gained against the Japanese currency to 89.18 yen from 88.91 yen.//DPA
