Wall St ends up

U.S. stocks ended near session highs in volatile trading as investors shook off earlier concerns over China.

Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 38.16 points, or 0.27 per cent, to close at 14,127.82 within 50 points of its all-time closing high of 14,164.53 in October 2007

S&P 500 climbed 7 points, or 0.46 per cent finished at 1,525.20, while Nasdaq gained 12.29 points, or 0.39 per cent at 3,182.03.

Among the key S&P sectors, utilities ended higher, while energy closed lower.
