Wall St ends sharply up

U.S. stocks up, with the Dow and the S&P 500 rebounding from two straight weekly declines ahead of two-day Federal Reserve meeting this week.

Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 129.21 points, or 0.8 per cent, to 15,884.57.

SP & 500 gained 11.22 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 1,786.54, with industrials leading a broad rally that extended to all but one of its 10 major industry groups.

Nasdaq composite added 28.54 points, or 0.7 per cent, at 4,029.52.
