Wall St ends lower

U.S. stocks closed lower ahead of US corporate earnings for 4th quarter 2012 and European Central Bank’s policy meeting later this week.

Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 50.92 points, or 0.38 per cent at 13,384.29.

S&P 500 declined 4.58 points, or 0.31 percent, to close at 1,461.89.

Most key S&P sectors finished in negative territory, led by energy and utilities.

Nasdaq composite lost 2.85 points, or 0.09 per cent at 3,098.81.
