Wall St end lower

U.S. stocks closed down overnight on weaker China’s February economic data and escalating tensions in Ukraine.

Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 231.19 points, or 1.4 per cent to 16,108.89.

S&P 500 shed 21.86 points, or 1.2 per cent, at 1,846.34, with technology shares dropping the most, while utilities stocks were the only gainer of the 10 major sectors.

Nasdaq composite slipped 62.91 points, or 1.5 perc ent, to 4,260.42.
