Voluntary guard shot, injured near STR rally site

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Erawan Emergency Medical Services Center reported on Tuesday that as of 11.50 pm on Monday's night a 43-year-old man was shot at his arms and right chest.

He was shot near Chamai Maruchet bridge where The Students and People’s Network for Thailand’s Reform (STR) has held the demonstration against the government.

He was sent to undergo surgery at Ramathibodi hospital.

According to the Crime Reporters and Photographers Association, the man was identified as Pokket Boonyok and volunteered to serve as a security guard for the rally site.
