Nationalist activist Veera Somkwankid and General Boonlert Kaewprasit were released after they reported to the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Monday morning.
They were released at 3 pm from the Army Auditorium.
Speaking to reporters upon his release, Boonlert said he had promised to the NCPO that he would seek an approval from the junta before holding any political activity.
Boonlert on Sunday held a welcome party for Veera at the Royal Turf Club. Veera was released from a Cambodian prison last week after over three years of detention.
