Phnom Penh - Cambodian police were investigating the death of an American man whose battered body was found wrapped in a curtain on a garbage dump near the capital, local media reported Thursday.
The man was identified as William Bryan Glenn, 44, from Mississippi, and is believed to have died from strangulation, The Cambodia Daily reported.
His body was found early Wednesday.
"There were bruises on the man's body and some blood from his nose, so this was murder," local police chief Yim Saran told the newspaper.
Glenn had reportedly only lived in Cambodia for about a month, after moving from Bangkok, and had not showed up for classes this week, according to the director of the school where Glenn worked.
The US Embassy declined to comment.
