The leaders of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship Thursday announced the cancellation of a mass rally on Aksa Road scheduled for Friday, saying they wanted to wait on further political developments.

They told their red-shirt supporters to be prepared for the next call to rally.
Red-shirt leaders earlier said they would call a mass rally prior to the Constitutional Court’s ruling on Yingluck’s status related to the transfer of National Security Council chief Thawil Pliensri. The court set Friday as the deadline for Yingluck to submit her defence, but Thursday she asked for an extension.
