Two more Rohingya escapees recaptured
Ranong Immigration Police on Wednesday arrested two Rohingya runaways in Suk Samran district. The pair had disguised themselves as tourists on a long-tail boat sailing along the coast towards Phang Nga's Khura Buri district.
One of the men had a telephone number in his pocket and police were investigating if this had links to the illegal labour-trafficking gang.
Ranong immigration police checkpoint head Pol Col Ekkorn Budsababodin said his officers were working with Thai Navy Region 3 officers in searching for the 10 Rohingya who escaped their detention cells on the night of August 23. So far six people including the two men recaptured on Wednesday have been brought back into custody. The search would continue for the remaining four.
