Two dead in Ecuador earthquake

Quito - At least two people died in an earthquake which hit the Ecuadorean capital Quito Tuesday, a news report said.

Eight others were injured during quake, which had a magnitude of 5.1, the Andes news agency reported.

The epicentre of the tremor was on the north edge of Quito, and at a depth of 12 kilometres, according to the country’s Geophysics Institute.
