San Francisco - Shopping at Amazon.com just got even easier.
The world's largest online retailer announced Monday that Twitter users can now load their virtual shopping carts directly by tweet. All they have to do is link their Amazon and Twitter accounts and they can then automatically add items to their cart by responding with #AmazonCart to any tweet with an Amazon product link.
The deal could prove lucrative to all involved. Twitter, which until now has relied on advertising for revenue will get a cut of the purchase.
Amazon will presumably sell more goods, and users will be able to load up on purchases without leaving the Twitter sphere, though they will have to go to Amazon to complete the transaction.
