Three boys killed in insurgency attack in Yala

Yala - Three Muslim boys were killed when they and their parents returned from praying at a mosque in this restive southern border province Monday night.



Col Pramote Prom-in, the spokesman of the Internal Security Operations Command Area 4, said Tuesday that the attack happened at 8:15 pm in Moo 7 village in Tambon Palu Kasamoh in Ba Cho district.

Pramote said the family was attacked with assault rifles.

Muya-ed Maman, 11, Bahari Maman, 9 and Issayas Maman, 6, were killed. Their parents, Jehmu Maman and Padila Maman, were severely injured.

Pramote said the Fourth Army Area commander was sorry for the loss and would cooperate with the government agencies concerned to provide compensation for the family.
