Thailand's power consumption has hit a new record today at 27,198 megawatts, according to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
Egat Governor Soonchai Kamnoonsate attributed the new record to the persistent heat, with average temperature of 37.1 degree Celcius across the country.
The new power peak was recorded at 2.23pm today.
It is the third peak so far this year. The first was on April 21, when power consumption peaked at 27,139 MW when the temperature was 38.3 degree Celcius.
The second was recorded on April 7, at 27.056.8MW.
