Warsaw - A Scrabble player demanded a strip-search after he claimed his opponent had cheated during an international tournament in Warsaw, local media reported Monday.

A Thai competitor called for officials to strip-search British opponent Ed Martin, saying the Brit had hidden the letter "G" on his person during the Scrabble World Championship, Polish Radio reported.
Judges ruled against the strip-search as Martin went on to win the game on Saturday by a single point.
More than 100 contestants took part in the championships which started Wednesday in the Polish capital, for a grand prize of 20,000 dollars. New Zealander Nigel Richards won the tournament on Sunday.//DPA
