Ten-year-old girl killed, two rangers, three civilians injured in Pattani blast

Muslim insurgents detonated a roadside bomb to ambush a patrol unit of rangers Sunday night, killing a ten-year-old girl and injuring two rangers and three other civilians in Pattani's Saiburi district.

Two of the injured civilians are a 7-year-old girl and 18-month-old girl. The civilians were by-standers when the blast occurred at 9:30 pm.

Police said the patrol unit was returning to its base and it was only 300 metres away from the base when the blast occurred on the main road of Toh Bala village in Tambon Kadunon in Saiburi.
