Songkran's road death toll rises to 20r after four days

The fourth day of the seven "dangerous Songkran holidays" saw 488 road accidents happen, killing 43 people and injuring 502 others, the Road Safety Directing Centre announced Tuesday.



Deputy Education Minister Sermsak Pongpanit, chair of the centre, announced that drunk driving remained the major cause of road accidents on Monday, the fourth day of the road accident monitoring period.

The accumulated death toll rose to 204 and accumulated figure of injuries rose to 2,142, Sermsak said.
