Sirichok denies breaking governor poll rules
Democrat MP Sirichok Sopha has dismissed allegations about his involvement in violating the electoral rules in connection with the Bangkok gubernatorial race.
"I believe the allegation is false because I have never attacked Pheu Thai candidate Pongsapat Pongcharoen," he said.
Sirichok said a campaign picture allegedly posed by him in the Internet was doctored to frame him.
He stated that although he commented on the "burning down of Bangkok", his remarks should not be construed as a frameup or defamation against the ruling party.
Past judicial rulings found such comments not in violation of the libel provisions, he said.
