Shippers' council upbeat export growth to meet 5 per cent target

The Thai National Shippers' Council is confident that the export sector this year would meet the growth target of 5 per cent on the assumption that the global economy would register growth of 3.5 per cent and the bath would weaken to around Bt34 per US dollar, according to its president Nopporn Tepsittha.

The council estimated that the prolonged political conflict over the past three months had no impact on the export last December and the first quarter this year.
