Security tightened at Defence Permanent Secretary Office for Yingluck

Military and police officials stepped up security at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence Ministry Tuesday after caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra went to work there again despite earlier besieging by protesters.

Yingluck came to work at the office at 10:20 am. No weekly Cabinet meeting was held but some ministers turned up to work, including Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Niwat-thamrong Bunsongphaisal.

The number of police and military officers guarding the compound was increased and some of them were deployed ton high floors of buildings surrounding the area.

Police and troops also set up checkpoints on roads around the compound.
