Residents of deep South warned of retaliations by insurgents
Residents in the deep South have been advised by the National Security Council to brace for anticipated heightened violence, in retaliation of Tuesday's ambush on a team of insurgents in Narathiwat province, which killed 16 of them while they were preparing to assault a Marine base in Bacho district.
NSC secretary-general Lt General Pharadorn Phatthanathabutr Wednesday cited arsons as immediate and primary attacks to be soon expected, as insurgents were likely "made angry and ready for revenges", over the heavy casualties suffered by the insurgency.
