Report: North Korea tests short-range missiles
Seoul - The North Korean military on Friday test-fired two short-range missiles off of its east coast, said the South Korean military, according to a report by the Yonhap news agency.
The report said the two Kn-02 type missiles, with a range of 120 kilometres, were blasted off as part of North Korean troop exercises.North Korea regularly tests its short-range missiles. South Korean military officials, however, said the latest test might be in reaction to the ongoing joint US-South Korean war games.
Tensions have been rising on the Korean Peninsula since the North carried out its third nuclear test last month, prompting the UN Security Council to tighten sanctions.//DPA
