Red shirts will rally next Monday against the anti-government group seeking to shut down Bangkok and oust the Yingluck Shinawatra government, but they won't mass in the capital or in the South.

About 5,000 red shirts met at Chalerm Phrakiat sports stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday to discuss their plans, including red shirts from towns such as Ubon Ratchathani, Mukdahan, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Surin, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
Red-shirt leader Natthawut Saikua called for rallies in some areas against the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), which will begin its mass protest to shut down Bangkok the same day. But he said red shirts would not rally the south or in Bangkok to avoid clashes with PDRC supporters.
Natthawut said he wanted to challenge Suthep to rally in the North and Northeast as well as in Bangkok.
