Anti-government protesters on Wednesday cancelled a march to a police anti-narcotics agency used as headquarters of Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO), rally's spokesman Akanat Promphan said.
Rally leader Suthep Thaugsuban yesterday said he would lead the march to Police Narcotics Suppression Bureau building despite a threat by CMPO's chief Chalerm Yoobamrung to arrest him.
Akanat said the suspension was made as the rally leaders worried about safety.
Issara Somchai, rally leader of Lat Phrao rally site, said Suthep expressed concerns about safety during a telephone conversation.
Earlier an M-79 grenade was thrown into Lat Phrao rally site, injuring a protester.
