National Council for Peace and Order chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha promised Monday that an interim prime minister and Cabinet would be set up.
But he declined to give a timeframe of the interim prime minister’s appointment. He was speaking at the first press conference held after he received a royal command to become the NCPO chief.
He declined to say when the next election would be held, saying it would depend on the situation.
Prayuth also sidestepped the question as to whether he would become the prime minister himself, telling the reporter who asked the question to wait and see.
